Douglas J. Stangle
1957 - 2016
Obituary
Douglas J. Stangle, 58, died March 2,
2016.
He was born to Dorotha Joanne and Dr.
Donald Stangle on October 27, 1957. He graduated from Kansas State
University, earning a bachelor's degree in Business Administration.
Doug was a loyal Kansas State football and basketball fan. He backed
K State in every game and any team playing against KU. Doug's humor
will be missed.
Doug loved to fish. One weekend he
pre-hooked several fishing poles with fish so that his niece Braden
would think she had caught several fish. A few of the fish got away
but she was still thrilled. She told everyone she caught "five
fish and three worms." A life-long New York Yankees fan he grew
up going to games with his family. When the Yankees decided to build
a new stadium, Doug, Deena and Don went to New York to see a game in
the old stadium before they tore it down. He enjoyed summers boating
at Marion Lake at his parent's place along with many friends. He
could repair anything from dishwashers to cars and always willing to
help anyone with anything.
He is preceded in death by his father,
Dr. Donald Stangle. He is survived by his mother, D. Joanne Stangle;
brother, Donald Stangle, Jr.; sisters Deena Stangle and Debra Vetter,
his brother-in-law Perry Vetter; niece Braden Vetter; nephew Nicholas
Vetter. A Memorial Service will be held at 10 a.m., Friday (March 18,
2016) at Trinity Heights United Methodist Church. Memorial
