Vivian Schill

Obituary

Vivian Ruth (Breising) Schill passed away Wednesday (Feb. 3, 2016) from complications of Post Polio Syndrome.

Kidron Bethel Health Care was caring for her, with the added expertise of Serenity Hospice, providing palliative care. She was born Dec. 14, 1926, in Newton to Fred and Hazel (Thompson) Breising, and was raised in Whitewater.

Vivian married Bernard Richard (Dick) Schill, Sr. on Nov. 26, 1946, in Wichita. They had seven daughters and two sons. Vivian was preceded in death by her husband, one infant daughter, her parents, and brother, John. She leaves behind her children, Linda Tompkins (Carl), Peggy Ingram (Bill), Kim Fields (Bob), Jean Lynch (Dwight), Kris Cooper (Rory), Laurie DelVecchio (Lonny), her favorite child - Bernard Richard (Rick) Jr (Staci), and Fred (Lara). Twenty grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren and two on the way. Also, her sister-in-law, Betty Breising, and many nieces and nephews.

Vivian loved to travel and was known to visit with anyone - she seldom met a stranger. Her love of music, family history, antiques, and long lost treasures found in Sand Creek and abandoned farm houses, were shared with her children and grandchildren...and she was always happy to pass along her infinite wisdom. Gardening, visiting, tinkering or dog sitting "Bear", added great enjoyment to her final years of living at her home. She treasured her kids, their varied personalities, and was interested in their lives- knowing favorite foods, books, pets, and hobbies. Her final wish was to travel to KU School of Medicine, where she will provide education in human anatomy and further their research.

Her family invites friends and family to a celebration of her life from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Feb. 13 at Cross Wind Camp and Conference Center - 8036 North Hoover Road Hesston, Kansas 67062. Lunch will be served.

In Lieu of cut flowers, please enjoy a wildflower, a grandchild, or good book .... or if you feel you'd like to make a donation, we ask that it be to Serenity Hospice (for patient care) 9415 East Harry Suite 302 Wichita, Ks. 67207, or, to the Harvey County Homeless Shelter PO BOX 978 Newton, Ks. 67114.
