Eugene M. Malone
Obituary
HALSTEAD - Eugene M. Malone, M.D., 92,
died Tuesday (Jan. 19, 2016) at Harry Hynes Memorial Hospice,
Wichita.
He was born July 31, 1923 at Chase to
Matthew H. and Mary P. (Barry) Malone.
He served in the U.S. Coast Guard
Merchant Marine during WWII.
On June 9, 1956 he married Mercedes G.
Barry at Kansas City, Missouri, she survives of the home.
A Halstead resident since 1960, he was
an internal medicine specialist at The Hertzler Clinic, Halstead KS,
until his retirement in 1993.
He was a member of Sacred Heart
Catholic Church, Halstead; diplomat of the American Board of Internal
Medicine; American Medical Assoc. and American Society of Internal
Medicine, and was a Clinical Assistant Professor of Medicine,
University of Kansas School of Medicine, Wichita.
Other survivors include sons: Matthew
Malone, Hutchinson; David (Martha Mars) Malone, M.D., Tulsa,
Oklahoma; Daniel (Robin) Malone, Hopkinton, Massachusetts; daughter:
Eileen (Steven) Malone O'Neal, Auburn, Washington; sister: Loretta
Forshee, Great Bend; and five grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by five
brothers and three sisters.
The Rosary will be said at 7 p.m.
Tuesday (Jan. 26, 2016) at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Halstead.
The Mass of the Christian Burial will
be 10 a.m. Wednesday (Jan. 27, 2016) also at Sacred Heart Catholic
Church with Father Edmond Kline officiating.
Burial will follow at 2 p.m. at St.
Mary's Cemetery, Chase.
Memorials may be given to Sacred Heart
Catholic Church in care of Kaufman Funeral Home, Halstead.
