Obituary
Mercedes Barry Malone, 88, died
Thursday (Feb. 18, 2016) at Southern Plains Assisted Living Center,
Tulsa, Oklahoma.
She was born May 27, 1927, to Gerald
and Alice (Schaub) Barry at Kansas City, Missouri.
She received her certification as a
medical technician in 1949 and earned her B.A. in General Studies
from Wichita State University in 1984.
She was a member of Sacred Heart
Catholic Church, Sacred Heart Altar Society, P.E.O. Chapter AK and
Helianthos all of Halstead.
She also served as a reading volunteer
at Bentley Elementary School.
On June 9, 1956, she married Eugene M.
Malone at Kansas City, Missouri. He preceded her in death Jan. 19,
2016.
Survivors include sons: Matthew Malone,
Hutchinson; David (Martha Mars) Malone, Tulsa, Oklahoma.; Daniel
(Robin) Malone, Hopkinton, Massachusetts.; daughter: Eileen (Steven)
Malone O'Neal, Auburn, Washington. and five grandchildren.
She was also preceded in death by a
brother, Gerald Barry, and a sister, Eileen Cigich.
The Rosary will be said at 10 a.m. and
the Mass of the Christian Burial will follow at 10:30 a.m. Monday,
Feb. 29, 2016, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Halstead, with Father
Edmond Kline officiating.
Burial will follow at 1 p.m. at St.
Mary's Cemetery, Chase.
Memorials may be given to Sacred Heart
Catholic Church in care of Kaufman Funeral Home, Halstead.
