Kenneth R. Volgamore

Kenneth R. Volgamore, 88, died Saturday (Dec. 7, 2002) at Veteran Hospital in Wichita. He was born Jan. 21, 1914, to Carl R. and Bertha (Thomas) Volgamore in beaver City, Neb. They preceded him in death. He married Madelin Prosser Oct. 18, 1945, in Farmington, N.M. She survives of the home. He was a member of Golden Plains Free Methodist Church in Newton. He lived in Colorado, New Mexico, and graduated from Gallup, N.M., schools in 1931. He attended Central College in McPherson. He helped support his parents and siblings duriing the depression and dust stormtimes. He served in a CC camp in Minnesota during the depression. He servedas a corporal in the U. S. Army during World War II at a power plant in Cairo, Egypt.

Other survivors include: three sons, David L Volgamore of Grand Junction, Colo., Kenton E. Volgmore of Haysville and William P. Volgamore of Duncan, Okla.; a brother, Paul Volgamore of Houston; two sisters, Fern Strange of Aztec, N. M. And Betty Tower of Hackettstown, N. J. and four grandchildren.

Visitation will be from 5 to 9 p. m. at Petersen Funeral Home.

Funeral services will be 3 p. m. Tuesday at Golden Plains Free Methodist Church with Pastors Charles Kaufmann and Earl Evans officiating.

Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery.

Memorials have been establsihed with Golden Plains Free Methodist Church in care of the funeral home.
