Velma Schuessler
Obituary
Velma Schuessler, 71, of Sedgwick, went
to be with her heavenly Father Thursday (March 31, 2016) at Wheat
State Manor in Whitewater, Kansas.
Velma was born November 24, 1944, in
Hillsboro, to Karl and Rachel (Banman) Reimer.
On August 20, 1966, she married Alvin
"Max" Schuessler in Goessel and he preceded her in death on
July 19, 2001.
Velma was a retired nurse and member of
the Sedgwick First Christian Church.
She is survived by two sons: Chad
Schuessler of Sedgwick and Marc Schuessler of Nanjemoy, Maryland;
three grandchildren- Rachel, Matthew and Nathan; and sisters Darlene
Schmidt of Goessel and Ruth Warkentin of Santa Barbara, California.
Over her 37 years of Prenatal Intensive
Care nursing at Wesley Medical Center in Wichita, Velma touched
thousands of lives with her caring hands. She was extremely committed
to the premature babies she so gently cared for and loved her work
and workmates. She carried that same love home to her family and her
friends. Her smile was always displayed and contagious.
She is preceded in death by her parents
and one grandson, Jonathan.
Funeral service will be 2 p.m. Tuesday
April 5, 2016, at Sedgwick First Christian Church, 514 N. Franklin,
Sedgwick, KS, with Pastor Kevin Berry officiating.
Visitation will be from 5 to 9 p.m.
Monday evening with the family receiving friends from 6:30 to 8 p.m.
at the funeral home. Burial will be in Hillside Cemetery Sedgwick,
KS.

Shepherd Hospice or Sedgwick First Christian Church in care of
Petersen Funeral Home.
