Obituary
Farley Wayne Porter, 59, of Topeka,
Kansas died January 27th at his residence in Topeka.
He was born to Wayne and the late,
Janet Porter, on June 12, 1955 in Newton, Kansas. Farley graduated
from Newton High School in 1973. Upon graduation, he entered the Navy
serving aboard the USS Long Beach, where he received the National
Defense Service Medal.
Farley had lived in Topeka since 2000,
where he lived until his death. He had a passion for sports,
especially the Chiefs and the New York Yankees. Farley loved his
family and friends and would not miss a family or class reunion if he
could help it.
Farley was preceded in death by his
mother: Janet Porter and his stepmother, Sabina Porter. He is
survived by his father: Wayne Porter of Newton; brothers: Fayne
Porter (Laura) Newalla, Oklahoma, Farrell Porter of Wichita, Kansas;
Faber Porter of Newton; and a sister: Fawn Porter Schmidt (Dwayne) of
Danbury, Connecticut; two daughters: Veronica Porter McQueen and
Felicia Porter of Florida; nephews: Nick Porter, Mike Porter, Dalton
Porter, Taylor Schmidt, Tanner Schmidt, Tucker Schmidt, Tagg Schmidt:
nieces: Maaggie Porter and Calli Porter.
A memorial service is scheduled for
February 5th, 10 a.m., Thursday at Petersen Funeral Home in Newton.
Inurnment will be a later date. A memorial has been set up for the
Harvey County Homeless Shelter of Newton.
