Norma L. Poull
LAWRENCE -- Norma L. Poull, 73, of
Lawrence, died Tuesday (Sept. 6, 2005) at Presbyterian Manor in
Lawrence. Poull was born Oct. 25, 1931, in Harper County to Merle C.
and Alta (McPhetridge) Griece. They preceded her in death. She
married Harold R. Poull April 13, 1950, in Pratt. He preceded her in
death April 30, 1987. Poull was a member of St. John the Evangelist
Catholic Church, where she served on the religious education
committee and was director of the Catholic Youth Organization for
eight years. She was the bulletin editor and a former member of the
parish council.
She also was a member of St. Mary's
Catholic Church in Newton, where she served on the altar society. She
also served on the St. Mary's Newton Parent-Teacher Organization and
the St. Mary's School Board. She and her husband served as advisers
for the Catholic Youth Organization.
Poull is survived by four sons: Daniel
Paul of Lawrence, Noel Patrick of Kansas City, Mo., Harold Michael of
Wichita and Kelly James of Lawrence; three daughters: Clare Suzanne
Goldt of Overland Park, Helen Kristine Tetrick of Hutchinson and
Jeanne Therese Poull of Lawrence; 14 grandchildren; and nine
great-grandchildren.
There will be a rosary at 7 p.m. today
at the Warren-McElwain Mortuary in Lawrence. Visitation follows.
Mass of Christian Burial will be 11
a.m. Thursday at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church in Lawrence.
Internment will be 11 a.m. Friday at St. Mary's Cemetery in Newton.
Memorials are suggested to the CYO or
the Hop Poull Scholarship Fund of St. John's of Lawrence in care of
the mortuary.
