Obituary
Wesley Dare Rhodes, 39, passed away on
Thursday (March 31, 2016) at Harry Hynes Hospice in Wichita.
Wesley was born in Atlanta, Georgia, on
Jan. 9, 1977. He attended Newton Schools and graduated from Newton
High School in 1995. He was a member of the Newton High wrestling and
football teams.
Wesley enjoyed showing hogs, riding
horses and showing cattle with his girls. He was a member of the
Newton Saddle Club, Flint Hills Wagon Trains and Newton Church of the
Brethren. He worked as a farm hand and with Budde Enterprises until
surgeries took away his ability to work.
Wesley married Tieyce Saylor on June
10, 2011, in Las Vegas, Nevada. It was a family affair with both
families joining them for the wedding.
Wesley is survived by his wife: Tieyce
Rhodes; parents John and Connie Rhodes; daughters Madison and Shelby
Rhodes; and his first wife, Carrie Funk.
A public visitation and viewing will be
held on Wednesday, April 6 from 5 to 9 p.m. at Petersen Funeral Home.
A Memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. at the Newton Church of the
Brethren. An inurnment will follow the service at Greenwood Cemetery.

Wesley fought a long and difficult
battle with diabetes. There were many surgeries, amputations, open
heart surgery and a kidney transplant before he lost the hard-fought
battle.
He will be remembered for his love for
family, friends, his out-going personality and great sense of humor.
