Obituary
Dry Branch, Georgia - Rowlan Day "Bev"
Bevan, 82, passed away Sunday (Feb. 1, 2015). A Memorial Service,
celebrating Bev's life will be at 2 p.m. on Friday (Feb. 6, 2015) in
Burpee-Scott Memorial Chapel.
He was born May 22, 1932 to the late
Lamoine Rowlan Bevan and Bernice Kohler Bevan in Lost Springs,
Kansas. He married Delphine "Del" Cameron Bevan on December
6, 1952. He graduated from high school in Newton Kansas in 1950 and
served in the U.S. Navy for 10 years and civil service (primarily for
the U.S Air Force) for 15 years. Before moving to their log cabin in
Dry Branch, Georgia, Bev and Del lived in Warner Robins, Georgia for
many years. He loved to fish and go camping and traveled extensively
throughout his career and retirement.
Bev is survived by his wife Del; four
children, son, Scott Bevan and his wife Pat; son, Rowlan Bevan Jr.
and his wife Linda; daughter, Nanette Bevan Cook and her husband
Rick; and son, Paul Bevan and his wife Meg. He is also survived by
twelve grandchildren, Jason Bevan, Jennifer Bevan Cobb, Cameron
Bevan, Daniel Bevan, Mindy Bevan LaBranch, Sherry Bevan, Courtney
Bevan Mason, Rowlan Bevan III, Bret Bevan, Kerrie Bevan, Theresa Cook
Spears, and Kristy Cook Stephens; and nine great grandchildren; Chloe
Bevan, Clark Bevan, Charlie Bevan, Emma Cobb, Tyler Spears, Dylan
Spears, Sebastian Stephens, Christain Stephens and Sophia Stephens.
Bev is also survived by a sister, Iva June Little and two brothers,
John and Bill as well as numerous nieces, nephews and many other
relatives and cherished friends.
A memorial service in his honor is
planned in Newton in the chapel of the SUM church at 1 p.m. Friday
(Feb. 6).
