Lamoine R. Bevan
Lamoine R. Bevan, 92, retired assistant Harvey County Engineer, died Monday (April 28, 1997) at Newton Medical Center. 
He was born Aug. 28, 1904, in Brown County to Rowlan D. and Pluma F. Fuller Bevan. He married Bernice Delia Kohlar on Nov. 30, 1929, in Abilene. She died June 16, 1938. He married Iva June Gilbert on Aug. 24, 1940, in Oklahoma. She died July 13, 1978.
He was a member of the Salem United Methodist Church, Newton Masonic Lodge and Wichita Consistory Lodge. He moved to Newtonin 1942.
Survivors include three sons, Bill Bevan of Halstead, Jogn Bevan of Newton, and Rowland Bevan of Warner Robins, GA.; one daughter, June Little of Newton; one brother, Fred Bevan of Peabody; one sister, Mabel Broadbent of Newton; 15 grandchildren, 27 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by four brothers, Burl Bevan, Everett Bevan, Herbert Bevan, and Spencer Bevan.
Funeral services will be 10:30 a. m. Thursday at Salem United Methodist Church with the Rev. W. Lawrence Grove officiating. Graveside services will be 2 p. m. Thursday at Lost Springs cemetery with the Rev. Bob Walter, retired United Methodist minister officiating. Burial will be in the Lost Springs cemetery in Lost Springs. Friends may call from 5 to 9 p. m. today and 9 a. m. to 9 p. m. Wednesday.
Memorials maybe sent to Salem United Methodist Church, in care of the Funeral Home.
