Ruby L. Werner Swim
Obituary
Ruby L. Werner Swim was a loving wife,
mother, grandmother and sister who passed away peacefully on Dec. 7,
2013, in Colorado Springs, Colo.
She was born on a farm in October 1922
in Densmore, and later moved with her family to Newton. She graduated
from Newton High School in 1940. She married her high school
sweetheart, Earl Swim, in November 1942.
In 1966, the Swim family relocated to
Colorado Springs, Colo. Ruby was employed as a clerk/cashier at Sears
Southgate from 1966 to 2005, nearly 40 years. Ruby had a sweet smile
and personality to match. She was kind and generous and a great
support to all family and friends.
Ruby joins her parents, Chet and Mabel
Werner; brother, Russ Werner; and sisters, Violet Woelk and Althea
Varker.
She leaves behind her loving husband,
Earl; daughter, Barbara Swim; granddaughter, Stacy Swim, and son, M.
Paul, of Colorado Springs; daughter and son-in-law, Brenda and Tom
Lorimor; and grandchildren, Shannon Sage (Kris), Rachelle Freelove
(Jeremy) and Trent Lorimor (Reggie Gordon) of Morrison, Colo.;
sisters, Dixie Roberts of Manhattan, Norma Willson of Lomita, Calif.,
D.J. Stauffer of Wichita, and Midge Carroll of Sonora, Calif.
Viewing is at Swan-Law Funeral
Directors on Friday, Dec. 13, 2013, between 4 and 7 p.m. A
celebration of her life will be on Saturday, Dec. 14, 2013, at 2 p.m.
at Swan-Law Funeral Directors, 501 N. Cascade Ave., Colorado Springs,
Colo.
In lieu of flowers, memorial
contributions can be given in Ruby's name to Pikes Peak Hospice
Foundation, Threshold Choirs or the Colorado Springs Senior Center.
