Obituary
Loretta Lies Heffentrager, 85, died on February 4, 2015 in
Wichita, Kansas.
Loretta was born on June 11, 1929 in Corwin, Kansas to Davey
and Irene (Fields) Ford.
Loretta graduated from Newton High School in 1947 where she
took business classes and was used in her career in varied accounting
departments.
She married Fred Lies in 1948. They were married for 46
years before his death.
In 1996 she married Bill Heffentrager. They enjoyed
traveling throughout the United States until Bill became ill and they moved
into the Kansas Christian Home.
She was survived by her husband: Bill Heffentrager;
children: Mike (Sue) Lies, David (Robin) Lies, Raymond Lies, Vernon (Gail)
Lies, and Charlene (Mike Hundley) Vinduska; 18 grandchildren, 35 great
grandchildren, and two great great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her father and mother: Davey
and Irene Ford; first husband: Fred J. Lies; daughter: Sharon Lies and a great
grandson: Joey Speer.
Funeral services are scheduled for 10:00 AM, Monday,
February 9th, at the First Christian Church of Newton. A visitation will be
held from 1:00-3:00 PM, Sunday, February 8th at Petersen Funeral Home. A Rosary
will be held at 3:00 PM at the funeral home following the visitation. Burial
will follow the service at St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery.
A memorial has been set up for Harry Hynes Memorial Hospice,
313 S. Market St., Wichita, Kansas 67202.
Loretta's health had been declining for some time until her
time of death. Her family will remember her as a good mother who taught them a
sense of right and wrong. The family is saddened with her passing but they will
have many lasting memories of her.
