Obituary
Judith Anne Foley, 78, she went to be with her Lord and
Savior Jesus Christ on Friday, February 6th at the Newton Medical Center.
Judith was born on September 6, 1936 to Willard and Mary (Shoot) Manewal in
Marceline, Missouri.
Early in her career she worked as a private secretary for
the Santa Fe. She later moved to Oklahoma, where Judith worked at the Central
State University for twenty eight years as an administrative assistant until
her retirement in 1999.
Judith had many interests and passions. She enjoyed
crocheting, cooking, reading, shopping, walking, visiting with friends and
acquaintances and volunteering for the Newton Public Library and the Newton
Humane Society-Caring Hands. She was very passionate about and loved OU
football and her family. Judith had a very strong influence in the raising of
her granddaughter, Jessica.
Judith is survived by her sister: Jan Cornies of Newton;
children: Michael and Shirley Foley of Meridian, Oklahoma, and Pamela Miller
and husband, Kevin Miller, and grandsons: Duncan and Dane Stephenson of Amoret,
Missouri ; granddaughter: Jessica Stephensen and partner, Ashley Smith of
Newton.
She was preceded in death by her parents: Willard and Mary
Manewal; husband: William Foley; and great granddaughter: McKenna Rollison.
Funeral services are planned for 2:00 P.M., Tuesday,
February 10th at Petersen Funeral Home in Newton. A visitation will be held
from 5:00 to 9:00 PM on February 9th at Petersen Funeral Home. Burial will
follow the service at Greenwood Cemetery in Newton. A memorial has been set up
for Caring Hands-Newton Humane Society, 1400 SE 3rd Street, Newton, KS. 67114.
