Obituary
William Dean Watkins, 74, died on
Wednesday (Aug. 31, 2011) at Kansas Christian Home in Newton.
He was born on Dec. 27, 1936, in
Newton, to William Homer and Gwendolyn Watkins. On July 16, 1961, he
married Lorraine Elizabeth Denton at First Baptist Church in Newton.
He is survived by his wife, Lorraine of
the home; son, Scott and his wife, Maren, of Salt Lake City; son,
Robert and his wife, Kimberly, of Newton; son, David and his wife,
Tracy, of Osage City; brother, Robert; brother, L. Mac and his wife,
Glenda; sister, Barbara and her husband, Charles Hollingshead; and
four grandchildren, Ryan, Jace, Myka and Megan.
Friends may call at the funeral home
from 1 to 8 p.m. Friday, where family will receive friends from 5 to
7 p.m.
Funeral service will be at 10:30 a.m.
Saturday at Broadway Colonial Funeral Home in Newton. Pastors Ted
Veer and Bill Regier will preside. Burial at Eastlawn Cemetery in
Zimmerdale will follow.
