Obituary
Willis Roy Goerzen, 84, of rural
Newton, died Thursday, Feb. 12, 2015, at home in rural Newton.
He was born May 3, 1930, in Goessel,
the son of Jake and Sarah Schroeder Goerzen. He worked for Graber
Plumbing and Heating in Newton for 42 years and was a master
craftsman. He attended Tabor Mennonite Church. On Sept. 9, 1951, he
married Thelma Unruh, at Goessel. She survives.
Other survivors include his children
Venita and husband Darrel Schroeder, rural Newton, and Bryan Goerzen,
rural Newton, 6 grandchildren, 2 great-grandchildren, sister, Alice
and husband Leroy Funk, Goessel. He was preceded in death by his
parents, infant daughter, Darla and infant son, Todd, a
daughter-in-law, Wendy Goerzen, and two brothers, Alvin and Milton.
Memorial Funeral Services will be at
11:00 a.m. Monday, Feb. 16, 2015, at Tabor Mennonite Church, with
Pastor Phillip Schmidt officiating. Burial was at Tabor Mennonite
Cemetery. Memorials may be sent to Bethesda Home in care of the
