Obituary
Richard Wayne Stephey, 62, died on
February 22, 2015, surrounded by his loving family.
He was born on September 9, 1952, to
Barbara Maurine McCabe and Richard Lynn Stephey in Arkansas City,
Kansas.
Richard worked for the railroad as a
conductor, retiring after 42 years of service with BNSF. He loved his
grandchildren and enjoyed spending time with them and other family
members. One of his most memorable trips was one to Alaska.
Preceding him in death was his mother,
Barbara; daughter, Tonya Stephey; sister, Cherie Donaldson.
Survivors include his wife Melody,
Artesia, New Mexico; three children, Jonathan (Amanda) Stephey,
Newton, Tiffany (Nick) McLaughlin, Newton, Pepper Stephey and Jason
Leal, Newton; three sisters, Sandy (Ron) Morgan, Emporia, Diane
(Mike) Nottingham, Wichita, and Robin (Tom) Carmichael, Wichita; 10
grandchildren.
Family invites friends to greet them on
Saturday, February 28, 2015, from 3:00 P.M.-6:00 P.M. at their home,
925 Spruce St., Newton, Kansas.
Cremation has taken place.
Memorials may be made to the Good
Shepherd Hospice, in care of the funeral home at 120 E. Broadway,
Newton, KS 67114.
