E.J. Brubacher
NORTH NEWTON - E.J. Brubacher, 89, died
Aug. 1, 2007, at Kidron Bethel Health Care, North Newton.
He was born Sept. 23, 1917, in rural
Perry, Okla., the son of A.J. and Clara Hirschler Brubacher. A
resident of North Newton, he was a farmer and businessman.
He served on the boards of the Sand
Creek Watershed District, Bethel Deaconess Hospital, Harvey County
Planning Commission, Newton Area Planning Commission, Harvey County
Association for the Retarded Citizens and the Bethel College
President's Advisory Board. He served as a Harvey County Commissioner
for two terms. He belonged to Bethel College Mennonite Church. He was
a U.S. Army Air Corps veteran, serving during World War II.
On Sept. 30, 1942, he married Lucille
Moore. She died Aug. 28, 2006.
Survivors include: three sons, John
Wade, North Newton, Edward James, Walton, and Michael Jack,
Scottsdale, Ariz.; two brothers, Don, Hesston, and Jack, Winfield;
three sisters, Kathryn Stucky, Newton, Naomi Krehbiel, North Newton,
and Yvonne Dalke, McPherson; nine grandchildren; and two
great-grandchildren.
Funeral will be at 6:04 p.m. Monday at
Bethel College Mennonite Church, North Newton, with Pastor Heidi
Regier Kreider presiding. There will be no visitation. A private
family inurnment will be held.
