Naomi Lee Krehbiel
Obituary
Naomi Lee Krehbiel, daughter of A.J.
and Clara M. (Hirschler) Brubacher, was born March 21, 1919 at Perry,
Oklahoma, and passed away Wednesday, April 6, 2016 at Kidron Bethel
in North Newton.
Naomi was united in marriage with
Orlando B. (Barney) Krehbiel on December 28, 1939 in the West Zion
Mennonite Church at Moundridge, Kansas. They established their home
in Newton, Kansas, and remained there until a move to North Newton in
1952, where Naomi has lived ever since.
Naomi was a mother and homemaker until
the early 1960's, when she began working at J.C. Penney Co. in
Newton. Later, she was employed at the former Hesston Corporation in
Hesston, Kansas until her retirement.
She was active in the Cooper and
Northridge Schools' P.T.A.s while her children attended those
schools. She was an active member of the Bethel College Mennonite
Church, where she taught Sunday School and Vacation Bible School, as
well as serving on various church committees for many years.
Survivors include daughter, Barbara
(Dr. Richard) Stucky of Denver, CO, son Bradley (Patricia) Krehbiel
of Shawnee, and son-in-law Dr. Don (Anne) Griswold of Lancaster, PA,
grandsons Brian (Maryann) Griswold of Downingtown, PA, and Darren
Griswold of Medial PA, step-granddaughters Kim (Shawn) Poores and
Michelle Nickolett of Prairie Village, great-grandchildren Kevin and
Holly Griswold, and step-great-grandchildren Deegan and Ian Poores
and Ethan Nickolett. Also surviving are brother Jack Brubacher of
Winfield, sisters Kathryn Stucky of Newton and Yvonne (Allen) Dalke
of McPherson, and many nieces and nephews.
Naomi was preceded in death by her
parents, husband Orlando B. "Barney", brothers E.J.
Brubacher and Don Brubacher, sister Ruth Dirks, and daughter Karen
Griswold.
Graveside services will be held at 9:00
a.m., Tuesday April 12, 2016 in First Mennonite Church of Christian
Cemetery in Moundridge, Kansas. Memorial service will follow,
beginning at 11:00 a.m., at Bethel College Mennonite Church in North
Newton, Kansas.
