Obituary
Lucy Reyes, 90, died Tuesday (January
27, 2015) at the Newton Presbyterian Manor.
She was born on January 9, 1925 in
Newton, the daughter of Jesus and Rafaela Pena Monares.
Lucy married Felix A. Reyes on November
8, 1944 at the Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church in Newton. He
died in May 1984.
Lucy was a longtime member of Our Lady
of Guadalupe Catholic Church. She loved having her family and friends
around her. Lucy wanted to cook for and feed anyone that came in her
home. She will be missed by all.
Survivors include her children, Sylvia
Sandoval and her husband Benny, Richard Reyes and his wife Kathy,
Steve Reyes and his wife Linda, Vivian Reyes, Delphine Owens and her
husband Tim; one brother Salvador Monares; 17 grandchildren; 29 great
grandchildren; and three great-great grandchildren.
Lucy is also preceded in death by her
parents and her brother Arthur Monares.
Recitation of the Holy Rosary will be
held at 6:00 P.M., Sunday (February 1, 2015).
Mass of Christian Burial will be held
12 p.m., Monday (February 2, 2015) both at Our Lady of Guadalupe
Catholic Church. Interment will be in St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery.
Friends may call at the church after 4
p.m. on Sunday.
