Obituary
William "Bill" Schwabauer,
72, died on Sunday, Jan. 11, 2015, at Newton Medical Center.
Bill was born on Feb. 28, 1942, in
Goessel, to Henry and Bertha Ruth (Decker) Schwabauer. He attended
Sedgwick and Newton schools and then later served in the U.S. Army in
the early 1960s.
Bill married Sandy Bacon on Jan. 19,
1979, in Newton. He and his wife loved animals, enjoyed bird
watching, feeding wild animals, and caring for their dogs. Sandy and
Bill were married for 34 years prior to her death in November 2014.
Bill was a retired truck driver and an
avid fisherman and lover of old cars (especially the 1956 Chevy). He
drove a truck for Farmers Oil for 22 years, Hesston Corp. for 12
years and fuel transport for Wenger Oil.
Bill is survived by his children:
Brandon Bacon and wife, Susan, Steve Bacon and wife, Crystal, and
John Bacon and wife, Jessica; grandchildren: Shannon Kalal, Jaxon
Bacon, John Truesdell (J.T.) Bacon, Sydney Bacon, Kyndal Bacon and
Josie Bacon; great-grandchild: Bella Kalal; and brothers: Loren and
Brad Schwabauer.
He was preceded in death by his wife:
Sandra Schwabauer, and parents: Henry and Bertha Ruth Schwabauer.
A memorial service will be at 11 a.m.
Saturday, Jan. 17, 2015, at Petersen Funeral Home Chapel. There will
not be a public visitation. A graveside committal will be at
Greenwood Cemetery following the service.
