Eugene (Gene) N. Gaede
Eugene (Gene) N. Gaede, 70, retired
Cargill assistant plant superintendent, died Friday (Sept. 14, 2007)
in Calimesa, Calif. Gene was born on April 6, 1937, in Hillsboro to
Henry and Mary Lou (Gibson) Gaede. He was extensively involved with
numerous charitable organizations throughout his life as generosity
to others was paramount in his life. The organizations most prominent
in his life were the Fraternal Order of Eagles and the Sons of the
American Legion. He also achieved the Third Degree of the Masonic
Order status while living in Buffalo, N.Y. He looked forward to
spending time with his family, loved to travel and was a member of
the Gran Road Runners RV Club.
Survivors include his wife, Anita;
children and their families: Deb and Troy Carroll, Kevin and
Christine Gaede, Beth and Rod Moore, Mari and Terry McCrary, Bob and
Cece Smith, Steve Smith, Darla and Bob Garrison, Lori and Mike Esau,
Teri and Alan Bryan, and Brenda and Joe Blanco; as well as siblings
and their families: Marlene Anduss, Charlene Sullivan, Lugene Gaede,
Virgene Gaede, Jolene West, Rolene Gaede, and Ragene Gaede; 24
grandchildren; and 21 great-grandchildren.
He was proceeded in death by his
parents and sister, Darlene Peterson.
There will be a private family
graveside service at Restlawn Cemetery in Newton with a dinner from
12:30 to 2 p.m. Saturday in the fellowship hall of the First
Methodist Church in Newton.
