Edwin L. Foiles
Obituary
Edwin L. Foiles, 81, passed away Wednesday, Dec. 3, 2014, at
Newton Medical Center.
He was born April 28, 1933, in Hoisington, to Edward and
Ruth Foiles, who preceded him in death.
Survivors include his wife, Norma (Barton) Foiles of Newton;
one son, Steven and wife, Rose Foiles, also of Newton; one daughter, Joyce and
husband, Brad Rodenberg of Halstead; one brother, Ronald Foiles of Holyrood;
two sisters, Opal Queen of Colorado Springs, Colorado, and Virginia Heath of
North Newton; three grandsons, David and Daniel Rodenberg of Halstead, and
Terry Rodenberg of Kansas City, Missouri; two granddaughters, Samantha McKinney
of Hesston, and Brandy McKinney of Springfield, Missouri; five great-grandsons,
Dakota, Kristopher, Tyler, Noah Rodenberg and Bryce Kelly; and three
great-granddaughters, Shayla McIntosh, Micaela Prewitt and Olivia McKinney.
He was preceded in death by one brother, Lawrence Foiles;
two sisters, Goldie Foskett and Verna Rice (Foiles); and one daughter, Linda
Renee Foiles.
He proudly served in the Navy for nine years, one month and
29 days. He retired from Newton High School after several years of working as a
night custodian known best by staff and students as "Mr. Ed."
Cremation has taken place at Baker Funeral Home, Valley
Center, and services will take place at a later time.
