HESSTON - Esther Ruth Franz, 98, passed away Nov. 19, 2014, at Schowalter Villa, Hesston.

She and her twin brother, John E., were born Dec. 13, 1915, at Hillsboro to the Rev. John Janzen and Elizabeth Ediger Franz. She was a retired elementary school teacher.

Survivors include her sister, Margaret Franz Kroeker of Hesston; niece, Karen Kroeker of Fairfax, Virginia; nephews, Rev. Calvin (Deanna) Kroeker of Chamberlain, South Dakota, David (Loretta) Franz of Birmingham, Alabama, and John Steven (Kyra) Franz of Berryville, Arkansas; and five grandnieces and three grandnephews, two great-grandnieces and two great-grandnephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Ella Franz; brother, Dr. John E. Franz; sister-in-law, Helen David Franz; brother-in-law, Carl E. Kroeker; and nephew, Glen Kroeker.

The family will greet friends from 1 to 2 p.m. Friday, Nov. 28, 2014, with funeral service at 2 p.m. Friday, Nov. 28, 2014, all at the Schowalter Villa Chapel, Hesston, with Chaplain Wendy Miller and Pastor Amy Nissley Stauffer officiating. Burial will follow at Buhler Municipal Cemetery, Buhler.
