Willard Kurt Jantz
of Overland Park, Kansas
Willard Kurt Jantz passed away April
17, 2004, in Overland Park, KS. Willard was born in Ellensberg, WA,
on November 12, 1920, and grew up in Odessa, WA, where he graduated
from high school. He graduated with a degree in chemistry from Bethel
College in 1943. Willard was a chemist at Derby Refining Co. in
Wichita until 1952. He retired from E.I. DuPont after 32 years as a
sales representative in 1984. Willard married Marjorie Enz in 1943.
They had three children and resided in Wichita until 1965, when they
moved to Prairie Village. His grandson, Kyle Jantz, preceded him in
death. His wife Marjorie and three children survive him: Margaret and
Nelson Gingerich, Anchorage, AK, Kurt and Susie Jantz, Wichita, Dr.
Keith and Rebecca Jantz, Leawood, KS; grandchildren include Angie
Warren, Brenda Henneberg, Scott Jantz, Mark Hansen, Shannon Jantz,
Taylor Jantz, and two great-grandchildren, Alex and Zachary
Henneberg. Willard has been involved over the years with the Lions
Club in both Pleasant Valley Wichita and the Prairie Village Club. He
served on the Bethel College Board of Directors for two terms. He
volunteered for many years for the Shepherd's Center. He was a former
member of the Lorraine Avenue Mennonite Church in Wichita and
presently a member of the Rainbow Mennonite Church, Kansas City, KS.
Memorial services will be held Wednesday, April 21 at Rainbow
Mennonite Church, 1444 Southwest Blvd. Service will be at 3 p.m. with
visitation after. In lieu of flowers, the family encourages memorial
contributions to Bethel College in North Newton, KS, or to Rainbow
