Lance Eric Wright, 64, of Newton,
passed away on Sunday (April 10, 2016) at Halstead after a battle
with cancer.
He was born Oct. 20, 1951, in Dodge City, the son of
Connor R. Wright and Florene LaMunyon Wright Alder. He was the last
grandson of Robert M. Wright, early day founder of Dodge City. Lance grew up in Dodge City, graduating
from Dodge City Senior High in 1969. Shortly after graduation, he
moved from Dodge City and lived in Newton for more than 30 years.
Survivors include his mother Florene
Alder of Newton; a son, Mathew Janson of Portland, Oregon; one
grandson; four stepsisters; and two stepbrothers, along with cousins,
nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held on
Thursday (April 14, 2016) at 2 p.m. at Baker Funeral Home in Valley
Center. Graveside services will be held at a later date at Maple
Grove Cemetery, Dodge City.
