Obituary
Robert "Bob" Prouty, 65, passed away on Monday,
Dec. 1, 2014, at Schowalter Villa in Hesston.
Bob was born on March 31, 1949, to Bob and Mildred
(Seltenreich) Prouty in Newton.
Bob was a 1967 graduate of Newton High School. He trained
and worked as a skilled machinist for the Santa Fe Railroad. He was a former
president of Local Lodge 1992. For many years he played baseball with summer
leagues in Newton. Bob was kind and generous and extended care and concern to
those less fortunate.
He is survived by his mother: Mildred Prouty; aunt: Margaret
Smith; uncle and aunt: Floyd and Gerrie Seltenreich; cousin: Kevin Smith; and
three cousins: Alex, Lori and Larry.
He was preceded in death by his father: Robert Lewis Prouty.
Funeral services are scheduled for 2 p.m. Friday, Dec. 5, at
Petersen Funeral Home Chapel. A visitation is planned from 5 to 8 p.m.
Thursday, Dec. 4, at Petersen Funeral Home. Burial will follow the service at
Greenwood Cemetery in Newton.
A memorial has been set up for the Harvey County Homeless
Shelter Inc., 900 W. Broadway, Building 7, Newton, KS 67114.
