Bobby Dean Collison

Obituary
Bobby Dean Collison, 89, went to be
with the Lord on June 29, 2014. He was
born March 30, 1925, in Buffalo.
He was preceded in death by his father,
Floyd Richard; mother, Dorothy Maxine Collison (nee Blackwood);
sister, Barbara Floy Brown; and wife, Nancy Collison (nee Covington).
He is survived by his daughters,
Michele Bush and Nina Danowski; son, Michael Collison; grandchildren,
Christina (Edward) Burns, Bryanna (Benjamin) Garcia, Kayla Bush,
Daniel Bush and Christine (Jeff) Croxell; and great-grandchildren,
Alexis and Keagan Bush.
Bob served in the United States Navy
and the United States Air Force, achieving second lieutenant rank. He
attended the University of Kansas, receiving his bachelor's of
science in mechanical engineering in 1950. He made a career as an
aircraft engineer, working for McDonnell Aircraft
Corporation, Beech Aircraft Corporation
and Boeing. He worked on the 747, 737, Airforce I and other
classified projects.
In his youth, Bob was an accomplished
musician and won honors in state music contests, both with his violin
and on the sousaphone.
Bob loved a great game of bridge. He
was a life-long learner and bread maker. Bob was an active member of
St. Matthews Episcopal Church and loved his church family. Bob
delighted in serving in various capacities during church services,
whether as altar boy or member of the vestry. Bob was the
designated cake baker for the Episcopal
Social Services.
A memorial service will be at 10 a.m.
Saturday, July 5, at St. Matthews Episcopal Church.
