Obituary

James H. Morris of Newton was born in Boswell, Oklahoma.

He was preceded in death by his father and mother, Elbert P. Morris and Bessie L. (Bryan) Morris; brothers, Tom and Ron. Surviving brother and sisters are Frank Woodruff, Virginia, Sam and Sandy.

He was married to Darleen M. (Tanner) Morris. His children are Elbert, Luke, Penny and Bryan. He has 10 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.

James served in the Army for 23 years. He was in the Korean War, and did two tours in the Vietnam War. James retired from the Army in 1979 and moved back to Peabody. He then worked for the Coleman Company and retired in 1994. He then moved to Newton to enjoy his retirement.
