Obituary
Louise A. Bartel, 88, died Tuesday,
June 24, 2014, at Kidron Bethel Healthcare in North Newton.
She was born Jan. 7, 1926, in Hillsboro
to John F. and Adelia (Schmidt) Goertz. On Aug. 27, 1946, she married
Harold D. Bartel at Johannestal Mennonite Church in rural Hillsboro.
Harold survives of the home.
Louise was a member of the Bethel
College Mennonite Church and was retired as a custodian and baker at
Bethel College. She was a caring mother and wife and greatly looked
forward to spending time with her loving family and many friends.
Louise is survived by her husband,
Harold of North Newton; son, Fred and his wife, Susan Wedel of North
Newton; daughters, Judith Bartel of North Newton and Natalie Hand and
her husband, Gary of Colwich; brothers, Linferd Goertz and his wife,
Pearl Buller of Lynden, Washington; grandchildren, Amanda Bartel and
her husband, Dierick Perez Rosalez, Justin Bartel, Jordan Hand and
Rachel Hand. Louise also has four great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her
parents and sister and brother-in-law, Elda and Milton Penner.
Memorial service will be 11 a.m.
Wednesday, July 9, 2014, at Bethel College Mennonite Church, with
Pastor Heidi Regier Kreider presiding.
Memorials are suggested to the Newton
Public Library Enlite program or Kidron Bethel Benevolence Fund, in
care of Petersen Funeral Home.
