Obituary
Thomas Richard Jakoplic, 61, of Burrton, passed away on
Tuesday, July 15, 2014, in Palm Beach Gardens, Florida.
He was born in Plainfield, New Jersey, on Feb. 20, 1953, to
Richard and Marion Jakoplic. He graduated from Fort Hays University in Hays,
and was a long time resident of both Burrton and Logan.
Thomas worked in aviation cabinet building at United
Technologies in Wichita, and attended New Spring Church in Wichita. He enjoyed
hobbies of woodworking, winemaking, beekeeping and hunting. Top on his list was
spending time with family and spoiling his grandchildren.
He is survived by his loving wife of 39 years, Pamela
Jakoplic of Burrton; daughters, Raina (Ryan) Leite of Palm Beach Gardens,
Florida, Abigail (Chris) Jakoplic-Arnold of Kansas City, Missouri; five
grandchildren, Jasmyne, Colt, Makayla, Gavin and Ronan; brother, James (Lee Wan
Chin) Jakoplic of Singapore; brother and sister-in-law, Todd (Shannon) Kee of
Morgan, Utah; and one nephew, William.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Richard and Marion
Jakoplic.
A family ceremony will be held on Saturday, July 19, 2014,
at Coral Cove Beach, in Tequesta, Florida. Interment will take place at
Woodston Cemetery in Kansas.
