Obituary
Mary Lagree, age 94, of Mendon,
formerly a longtime resident of Newton, died Tuesday, June 17, 2014,
at Pershing Memorial Hospital in Brookfield, Missouri.
A funeral service will be at 1 p.m.
Saturday, June 21, 2014, at the First Christian Church in Brookfield,
with Pastor Mindy Figurino officiating. Visitation will begin Friday
at 1 p.m. at Wright-Baker-Hill Funeral Home in Brookfield, and the
family will receive friends from 6 until 7 p.m. in the evening.

Mary Elmetta, daughter of Stillwell
Truax and Jennie Pearl (Holler) Covalt, was born Nov. 10, 1919, in
Durham. In 1942, she married Edgar John Rodgers, who preceded her in
death in 1958; later in 1962, she married Lawrence Ray Lagree, who
preceded her in death in 2000.
Mary was a former member of the First
Baptist Church in Newton, and a member of the First Christian Church
in Brookfield. She was also a member of the Christian Women's
Fellowship.
Survivors include one daughter, Creta
Rodgers Truesdell and husband, Robert of Mendon; nine grandchildren,
Edgar Eugene Rodgers of Colorado, Tama Marriott of Brookfield, Shane
Truesdell of Mendon, Keturah Austin of Bel Aire, Jorena McFadden of
Hutchinson, Tony Lagree of Hays, Debra Southworth, Bill Humphrey and
Aaron Lagree, all of Wichita; 18 great-grandchildren and 11
great-great-grandchildren; one sister, Miriam Pearl Covalt of
Wichita; her late husband's daughter, Mary Ann Lagree Humphrey of
Wichita; and several nieces and one nephew.
She was also preceded in death by her
parents; one son, Eric Eugene Rodgers; one granddaughter, Tara Lee
Truesdell; 11 brothers and sisters; her late husband's two sons, Gary
Lagree and Richard Lagree; and one niece and several nephews.
