Obituary
Mary Antonia Mosqueda Pacheco, 88, died
Sunday (May 15, 2016) at the Newton Presbyterian Manor.
She was born on Nov. 16, 1927, in
Newton, the daughter of Julio Antonio and Emelia Rincon Mosqueda.
Mary worked for Fred Harvey as a prep cook. During World War II, she
worked at the A.T. & S.F. Rail Mill.
Mary was married to Miguel A. "Mike"
Pacheco on April 21, 1956, in Newton. He died on March 29, 1990.
She worked at the Newton Presbyterian
Manor for several years until retiring. Although she had no children,
Mary was like a second mother to all of her siblings and numerous
nieces and nephews, whom she dearly loved. She often addressed "the
twins," Jason and James, as "her boys." Mary loved to
dance, especially ballroom dancing. She enjoyed gardening and cooking
as well as driving around Newton in her old Chevy Chevette at a slow
speed.
Survivors include her sisters Susan
Mosqueda and Olivia Goodall of Newton, Rosalinda Galle of Clearwater,
Florida, Rebecca Garza of San Antonio, Isidra Boroughs of San Diego;
and her brothers Armando Pedro Mosqueda, Sr. of Newton, Pablo T.
Mosqueda of Chula Vista, California; along with her four companions,
Carlota, Paloma, Capitan and Mickey.
She is preceded in death by her
parents; husband; brothers Hector R. Mosqueda, Sr., Julio James
Mosqueda, Jr., Mike Mosqueda, Sr.; and sisters Oralia Mosqueda and
Helen Corona.
Recitation of the Holy Rosary will be
said at 9:30 a.m. Saturday (May 21, 2016) followed by the Mass of
Christian Burial at 10 a.m., both at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic
Church. Private family inurnment will be held at a later date at St.
Mary's Catholic Cemetery, Newton.
The casket will be open at Broadway
Colonial Funeral Home on Friday between 1 and 8 p.m., where the
family will receive friends between 6 and 7 p.m.
