Dorothy Helen Claassen Stucky 1912-2014

MOUNDRIDGE — Dorothy Helen Claassen Stucky, 102, died March 26, 2014, at Pine Village. 
She was born on Jan. 19, 1912, at Newton to John G. and Marie Ensz Claassen. She attended the Elbing and Newton public schools and graduated from Bethel College in 1936.
 
On Dec. 1, 1939, she married Myron G. Stucky. He died March 8, 1990. She and Myron raised four children while she was also busy working as a substitute teacher, postal clerk and church secretary.
 
Surviving are their children, John (Edna) Stucky, Moundridge, and Mark (Donna) Stucky, Newton, Michelene (Bruce) Fast, Boulder, Colo., and Jeanne (Michael) Carey, Westcliffe, Colo.; eight grandchildren and two great-grandchildren; and other family and friends.
 
The graveside committal service will be Monday at 10:30 a.m. in the First Mennonite Church Cemetery. Visitation will be Sunday from 3 until 5 p.m. at the Moundridge Funeral Home. A memorial service will be held at a later date.
 
Memorial donations are suggested to the First Mennonite Church of Christian or Pine Village, in care of the funeral home.
