Gloria Jean "Jeannie" Holland
Patterson, 63, died on Sunday (Dec. 25, 2011) at Harry Hynes Memorial
Hospice in Wichita. She was born on Dec. 13, 1948, in Newton to Lecil
and Geneva Holland. On July 25, 1968, she married Lonnie V. Patterson
in Newton. They had a son, Dustin Wayne, and one daughter, Wendi. She
was a self-employed accountant and income tax preparer for nearly 30
years. She was civic-minded and helped with many charities and
several veterans' organizations. She was a wife, mother, grandmother
and soon-to-be great-grandmother. She loved to travel, bowl, play
bingo and occasionally gamble. She was truly loved, and she will be
greatly missed by her family and many friends.
She is survived by her husband, Lonnie
Patterson of Newton; son, Dustin Wayne Patterson of Newton; daughter,
Wendi Holeman and husband, Vincent of Newton; two brothers, Lecil
Melvin Holland Jr. and Carl Holland, both of Newton; sister, Annie
Sympson and husband, Harold of Newton; and three grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her
parents, Lecil and Geneva Holland, and her grandparents.
Visitation will be from 1 to 8 p.m.
with family present from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Petersen Funeral
Home in Newton. The funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Friday at the
Petersen Funeral Home Chapel.
