Laveda Pansy Koehn
Obituary
Laveda Pansy Koehn, 83, died Tuesday
(May 3, 2016) at the Moundridge Manor in Moundridge. She was born
Feb. 22, 1933, in Halstead, to Enoch D. and Anna (Smith) Koehn.
Pansy was a lifelong active member of
the Eden Church of God in Christ Mennonite in rural Burns. She was a
retired LPN at the former Bethel Hospital and Newton Medical Center.
She also worked for some time at Wheat State Manor in Whitewater.
Pansy enjoyed yardwork, flowers,
gardening and knitting. She also enjoyed the companionship of her
dog, Duchess.
Pansy lived with her sister Jeralyn who
preceded her in death in 2006. They enjoyed traveling together and
each other's company.
Pansy and Jeralyn both took care of
many family members during illnesses through the years. Pansy will be
remembered for her warm smile, selflessness and the love she easily
gave to her family and many friends.
Those left to treasure her memory are
one brother Glen and his wife Norma of Texline, Texas; sisters
Dorothy Jantz of Moundridge and Edna Koehn of Newton; sister-in-law,
Jennette Koehn, of Burns; nephew, Michael (and Cynthia) Jantz of
Cochise, Arizona; niece Jana (and Nolan) Smith of Burns; nephew Brad
(and Miriam) Jantz of Burns; many other relatives; and friends.
Preceding her in death are her parents,
two brothers and six sisters.
Funeral service will be 10:30 a.m.
Saturday, May 7, 2016, at Eden Mennonite Church in rural Burns.
Visitation will be 5 to 9 p.m. Friday at Petersen Funeral Home with
the family receiving friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Burial will be in the
Eden Mennonite Church Cemetery.
Memorials are suggested to Moundridge
Manor or Gospel Tract and Bible Society in care of Petersen Funeral
Home.
