Obituary
HALSTEAD – Lois G. Held, 85, passed
away Sunday (May 29, 2016) at LakePoint of Wichita.
She was born in Wichita on January 30,
1931.
On February 12, 1951, she was married
to Jimmie Held. They owned and operated Held's Gas and Grocery in
Halstead. They also raised sheep and rescued more than 1,000 cats in
her lifetime.
She was preceded in death by her
husband Jim Held; a son Sammie Held; and three step-sisters: Dixie,
Shirley, Eva Joyce. She is survived by her son Roger Held (Kathy) of
Wichita; daughters: Robin Stephens (Chris) of Sweetwater, Texas;
Sandy Southern (Bill) of Peabody; and Martha Chastain of Wichita; a
half-brother Barton White of Harrison, Arkansas; 10 grandchildren; 18
great-grandchildren; and a sister-in-law Nell Endsley of Wichita.
Funeral Service will be held at 1 p.m.
Wednesday (June 1, 2016) at Lamb Funeral Home, Whitewater. Visitation
will be from 10 a.m. until service time. Interment will be in the
Green Valley Cemetery, Furley.
