Obituary
DERBY - Evelyn Mary Schultz, age 90, special and beautiful
wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend, passed away Feb. 3, 2014.
Evelyn was born Jan. 2, 1924, in Lost Springs. She graduated
from Lincolnville (Kansas) High School and from Business Preparatory School in
Wichita in 1942. She worked as a secretary in Washington, D.C., during World
War II, later settling in Newton, where she worked nearly 30 years for the
Kansas State Employment Service.
Evelyn was preceded in death by her parents, Frederick and
Clara Beneke; husband, Arthur Schultz in July 2013; brother, LaVerne Beneke;
and sister, Lorena Blankensop.
She is survived by her daughter, Jennifer (Bruce) Baugh of
Derby; grandchildren, Heather (Gene) Jani, Hilary (Keith) Ecklund, Sydney
(Clayton) Kaus; great-grandchildren, Lauren, Gage, Carly and Reid; and
siblings, Lila (Al) Gooding and Alfred (Donna) Beneke.
Visitation will be from 2 to 5 p.m. Sunday at Smith
Mortuary, Derby. Funeral service will be at 1 p.m. Monday at Holy Cross
Lutheran Church, 600 N. Greenwich Rd., Wichita.
