Obituary
Sally I. Rizzo died at her home in Ft. Myers, Fla., on
Monday, Feb. 3, 2014.
She was born to Bradford and Dorothy Winans on July 14,
1938, in Newton. She was a 1956 graduate of Newton High School and attended
Emporia State University.
She was a stewardess for Braniff Airlines, then worked for
many years at 3M in St. Paul, Minn. On Aug. 5, 1973, she married Reno Rizzo. He
survives of the home.
She was preceded in death by parents, Brad and Dorothy
Winans; and a brother, Tommy Winans.
Other survivors include daughter, Kathryn McCardell;
grandson, Christopher McCardell, both of Ft. Myers; great-grandson, Cameron;
brothers, Byron (Beverly) Winans of Dodge City, Pete (Connie) Winans of Newton;
sisters, Diane (Rudy) Ludwig of Salina, and Rose Stucky of Newton; and several
nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.
Cremation has taken place and a memorial/celebration of life
will take place in Ft. Myers on Saturday, March 15, 2014.
