Obituary

Betty Jean Heatwole, 70, died Monday, Dec. 30, 2013, at Wesley Medical Center in Wichita.

She was born Oct. 29, 1943, in Newton to John Henry and Fern Nettie (Fall) Heatwole. Betty worked at the former corner lunch in Newton for nearly 20 years prior to the restaurant's closing. She enjoyed attending church and spending time with the many friends she made. Betty also liked to attend movies and plays with her friends.

She is survived by her brother, Eugene and his wife, Caroline of Kansas City, Mo.; and the many special friends she has made at Rescare in Newton.

Betty was preceded in death by her parents and eight brothers and sisters.

Visitation will be from noon to service time Wednesday, Jan. 8, 2014, at Petersen Funeral Home. A chapel service will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 8, 2014, at Petersen Funeral Home, followed by an interment at Eastlawn Cemetery in Zimmerdale.
