Obituary
James "Randy" Coor, 58, died Tuesday, Jan. 14,
2014, at Wesley Medical Center in Wichita.
He was born May 28, 1955, in Artesia, N.M., to James Pat and
Darline (Smith) Coor. On Aug. 5, 1977, he married Theresa Hoffman in Wichita,
and she survives of the home.
Randy was a faithful member of the Meridian Baptist Church
in Newton. He graduated with a BA from Bob Jones University and attended New
Mexico State University, where he studied electrical engineering. He worked as
a supervisor for Convergys call center.
Randy greatly enjoyed all things digital and electronic and
learning new technologies. His greatest joy was his family and many friends. He
especially enjoyed his granddaughter, Ellorie, and was looking forward to
meeting his newest unborn granddaughter.
Randy is survived by his wife of the home; mother, Darline
and her husband, John D. Lane of Altoona, Fla.; son, Robbie Coor of Japan;
daughters, Tara and her husband, Paul Hurst of Denver, Colo., and Tricia and her
husband, Josh Erickson of Wichita; brother, Ronnie Coor of Carlsband, N.M.;
sister, Patsy Joe and Dean Hood of Ruidoso, N.M.; aunt and uncle, Paul and Ora
Lee Coor of Carlsbad, N.M.; and one granddaughter, Ellorie Hurst.
Funeral service will be 11 a.m. Monday, Jan. 20, 2014, at
Meridian Baptist Church in Newton, with Pastors Jerroll Martens and Scott
Kliewer presiding. Visitation will be 1 to 5 p.m. Sunday, with the family
receiving friends from 2 to 4 p.m. at the Petersen Funeral Home.
A committal service will be 2:30 p.m. Monday at the Moniter
Cemetery in Moniter (McPherson County).
Memorials are suggested to the Family Financial Aid Fund at
Berean Academy, in care of Petersen Funeral Home.
