Mary Ann (Dyer)
Manning, 82, of Newton, formerly of El Dorado, went home to her Lord on Jan.
22, 2014.
Memorial service will take place Monday, Jan. 27, 2014, at
the First Christian Church in El Dorado at 10 a.m. Pastor Stan Seymour will be
presiding. Burial will follow at Whitewater Cemetery in Whitewater.
Mary Ann was born on Sept. 25, 1931, the daughter of Ernest
and Ethel Dyer in Emporia. She graduated from Emporia High School in 1950, then
attended Ottawa University. On May 9, 1954, she married Gene E. Manning in
Emporia. She retired from the Gas Service Company in 1988. Mary Ann was a
member of the First Christian Church in El Dorado and also volunteered her time
to the Sewing Saints and Meals on Wheels through Susan B. Allen Hospital.
Surviving family is husband, Gene of the home; children,
Randy (Barbara) Manning of El Dorado, Cynde (David) Neufeldt of Buhler, Diana
(Reuben) Busenitz of Montana, and Linda (Lance) Varley of El Dorado; sisters,
Karon Dyer and Dorothy Moore; 13 grandchildren; and 25 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Ernest and Ethel
Dyer; and her sister, Doris Albin.
Cremation has already taken place. In lieu of flowers,
memorials may be made out to Harry Hynes Hospice and First Christian Church.
