Obituary
Robert A. Rickenberg, 62, died on Friday, Jan. 24, 2014, at
Kansas Christian Home in Newton.
Robert was born on Feb. 9, 1951, in Newton to Allan and
Donna (Hedrick) Rickenberg.
Robert attended Newton schools and was a graduate of the
Newton High School class of 1969. He attended Emporia State and Wichita State
University.
He was a career truck driver and enjoyed seeing the United
States as he traveled.
Robert was an accomplished guitarist. He played in several
local bands, as well as a guitar soloist. He enjoyed drawing and other artistic
pursuits. He had a special interest and studied the solar systems.
Robert was survived by his father, Allan Rickenberg, of
Hesston; and a sister, Roxanne Grosch, of Newton.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Donna (Hedrick)
Rickenberg.
Robert's last years have been a difficult struggle against
cancer. He has been in and out of hospitals and the Kansas Christian Home with
this long struggle.
