Dennis W. Ulrich
Obituary
HESSTON - Dennis W. Ulrich, 70, passed away Jan. 27, 2014,
at Newton Medical Center, Newton.
He was born Oct. 4, 1943, in Morocco, Ind., the son of
Emmanuel and Pearl Swartz Ulrich. He owned and operated the Downtowner Restaurant
in Oberlin for many years, worked as a finish carpenter and as a custodian for
the Whitestone Mennonite Church, Hesston, and Hesston USD 460. He was a member
of the Whitestone Mennonite Church and an avid model railroader.
On Aug. 30, 1969, he married Shirley Lauber at Shickley,
Neb. She survives.
Other survivors include his children, Adam (Lea) Ulrich of
Hesston, Marne Schilling and Rob Dreher of Hesston; two brothers, David (Dotti)
Ulrich of Denver, Don (Vickie) Ulrich of Lenexa; and seven grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and one brother,
Richard Ulrich.
Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 30, 2014,
at Whitestone Mennonite Church, Hesston, with Pastors Kurt Horst and Jill
Weaver officiating. Burial will follow the service at Eastlawn Cemetery,
Hesston. Friends may visit from 4 to 8 p.m., with the family greeting friends
from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 29, 2014, at Miller-Ott Funeral Home, Hesston.
