Elrie Mayfield Kinser
Obituary
Elrie Mayfield Kinser, 101, died Tuesday, Dec. 17, 2013, at
Presbyterian Manor in Newton.
He was born June 16, 1912, in Stevens County, the son of
William and Blanche Cook Kinser. He was married to Myrtle Wheeler on March 25,
1934, at the Bethel Friends Church. They moved many times during the early
years of their marriage, finding work with different farmers. In 1945 they
settled with their family and farmed in Stevens County, until their retirement
in 1977 to Haviland. They moved to the Presbyterian Manor in Newton in 2007.
Survivors include four sons and daughters-in-law, Harold and
Mary Ann Kinser, Sun City West, Ariz., Merl and Eunice Kinser, Coyle, Okla.,
Delmar and Phyllis Kinser, Newton, Irvin and Jean Kinser, Bonner Springs; nine
grandchildren; brothers, Floyde, Loyde, Arlie and Trulin Kinser; and sisters,
Fern Elam, Loene Berry, Hope Dunlap and Stella Hart.
Elrie was preceded in death by his wife, Myrtle, on Aug. 16,
2009; brothers, Leroy, Robert and Leslie; and sisters, Fay Wheeler and Grace
Morford.
Funeral services and celebration of Elrie's life will be at
2:30 p.m. Friday, Dec. 20, 2013, at the Haviland Friends Church, Haviland.
Burial will be in Haviland Cemetery, Haviland. A visitation will be from 5 to 7
p.m. Thursday at Fleener Funeral Home, Greensburg.
