Obituary

Robert F. Ross, 87, farmer and carpenter, died Wednesday (June 8, 2016) at Halstead Health and Rehabilitation.

He was born April 22, 1929, in Halstead, to Fay and Bertha (Fryar) Ross.

He was a member of First United Methodist Church and former board member of Farmers Coop, both in Halstead, and he also was a life member of the N.R.A.

On June 24, 1950, he married Dorothy L. Huebert in Arkansas City. She preceded him in death Feb. 24, 1998.

Survivors include sons: Robert (Lu Ann) Ross, Augusta; Tom (Jeanette) Ross, Halstead; Alan (Wendy) Ross, Council Grove; Tim Ross, Marion; brother: John (Sylvia) Ross, Pittsburg; six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

He was also preceded in death by a brother Richard Ross and a sister, Dorothy Cooper.

Friends may call from 2 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, June 15, 2016, at Kaufman Funeral Home in Halstead. The family will greet friends from 6:30 to 8 p.m.

Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Thursday, June 16, 2016, at First United Methodist Church, Halstead, with Rev. Jane Voelkel officiating.

Burial will follow at Halstead Cemetery.

Memorials may be given to the church in care of Kaufman Funeral Home, Halstead.
