Obituary

Brenda I. Pfortmiller (Soles), 76, of Newton, passed on Tuesday (June 14, 2016). She was born to Lyle and Anna Sweasy on October 12, 1939, in Caldwell.

Brenda married Joe Bill Soles, and together they had three sons; Allen, David and Mark. Brenda's husband Joe passed away in 1971. In 1995 she married Ken Pfortmiller, in Las Vegas.

They enjoyed traveling together for many years. Brenda took great interest in quilting; making one for each of her eight grandchildren. She also enjoyed studying the genealogy of her family.

She was a member of Cowtown Social Club, Prairie Quilt Guild, Red Hat Society, and the Applique Ladies Group.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Lyle and Anna Sweasy; and brother, Larry Sweasy; first husband, Joe Bill Soles, and second husband Ken Pfortmiller.

She is survived by sons, Allen Soles, David Soles, and Mark (and wife Lesli) Soles; grandchildren, Ciera, Kylie, Katelyn, D.J., McCayla, Casondra, Jeremy, Thomas; great grandchildren, Cassie, Simon, and Conner; sister, Vicky and husband Bill Auman.

Visitation will be on Friday (June 17, 2016) from 5 to 9 p.m. at Petersen Funeral Home, with family greeting friends from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m.

Burial will be at Kechi Township Cemetery, Kechi, at 9 a.m. Saturday (June 18, 2016); followed by a Memorial Service at 10:30 a.m. and a meal at Trinity Heights United Methodist, in Newton.

Memorial contributions may be made to Cowtown, or Newton Area Senior Center.
