Pauline Salas

Pauline Salas, 101, died Tuesday (Jan.
4, 2005) at her residence in Newton. She was born June 3, 1903, to
Jose and Leacalia (Perez) Diaz in Lapiedad, Mexico. She married
Refugio A. Salas in 1921 in Parsons. He preceded her in death Aug.
16, 1986. She held a membership with Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic
Church of Newton and a member of the church Altar Society. She lived
a long, full life. One could describe her as a very strong-willed,
hard-working woman. She enjoyed cooking and sewing for her family and
friends.
Survivors include: a daughter; Joann
(Salas) Alvarez of Newton; three sons, Mike Salas of Wichita, Rudy
Salas of Wichita and Raymond Salas of Newton; 16 grand children;
eight great-grandchildren; and many great-great-grandchildren.
She also was preceded in death by: a
daughter, Anita Seeney; a son, Manuel Salas; a great grandson,
Anthony Salas; a sister, Benilda Luna; and a brother, Moyses.
Visitation will be until 7 p.m. Today
at Broadway Colonial Funeral Home.
Recitation of the rosary will be 7 p.
m. Today at the funeral home.
Funeral service will be 10 a. m. Friday
at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic church with Father Floyd McKinney
officiating.
Burial will be in St. Mary's Catholic
Cemetery.
Memorials have been established with
Our Lady of Guadalupe Church and Odyssey Home Health Care of Wichita,
both in care of the funeral home.
