Obituary
Sarah Ann (Burton) Owens, 62, of
Newton, died July 15, 2016. She was born Sept. 18, 1953, to Glen and
Ada Burton in Hays. She married Charles Owens and lived in Wichita
for the majority of her adult life. Sarah had three children: Daniel,
Charles and Melissa.
She worked at Friendly Acres as a
Certified Nurse's Aide for several years. She liked fishing, and
loved bingo! Sarah also loved her family and spending time with them!
She is preceded in death by her
parents, Glen and Ada Burton; stepfather, Warren Jones; husband,
Charles "Tommy" Owens; and brothers, Andrew Burton and
Edmund Burton.
She is survived by children Melissa
Owens, Charles Owens and Daniel Burton; two grandchildren; sisters
Elizabeth Abeyta, Christine Burkett, Erma Ringle (and husband Don)
and Etta Holloway (and husband Virgil); and brothers William Burton
and Warren Jones.
Visitation will be held Tuesday (July
19, 2016) at Petersen Funeral Home in Newton from 1 to 5 p.m., with
family greeting friends from 3:30 until 5 p.m. Graveside Service will
be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday (July 20, 2016) at Elmwood Cemetery in
Augusta.
