Harold W. Linscheid
Harold W. Linscheid, Ph. D., 96, retired Wichita State University mathematics professor and former head of the Southwestern State College Mathematics Department in Weatherford, Okla., died Wednesday (Dec. 4, 2002). He was born Sept. 24, 1906, in Newton to the Rev. Gustav A. and Anna S. Linscheid. He married Edna M. Kliever Aug. 25, 1933, in Corn, Okla. He was a member of the Lorraine Avenue Mennonite Church, Mathematical Association of America, American Mathematical Society, a past office holder in the Wichita Stereo Camera Club and the International Photo Exhibitors Society.
He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, infant son, Kenneth Ray Linscheid, and brother, Chester Linscheid.
Funeral service will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday at Cochran Mortuary, 1411 N. Broadwy in Wichita.
Survivors include: sons, Wilbert Linscheid of Pass Christian, Miss., and Norman Linscheid of Manhattan, New York City; a daughter; Lois L Amick of Wichita; sister-in-law Elizabeth Linscheid of North Newton; two grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Memorials have been established with Lorraine Avenue Mennonite church, 655 S. Lorraine, Wichita KS 67211.
